About

Scott Christensen began painting with oils on stretched canvas in 1997 at the age of 26. Four years later, Scott resigned from his position leading a horizontal drilling gang to study Visual Art full-time. Scott's wife had just given birth to their first children - twins.

...As Scott recalls, ‘failure was not an option'.

"A Scott Christensen seascape is to beach lovers what illuminated manuscripts were to ancient monks"
Lisa Yallamas - The Courier Mail - October 9, 2004

Since then, Scott united his ability to create with his love of the Australian coastline, and has never looked back; selling over 350 originals and over 4500 Canvas Editions to date.

He represents these ever-changing environments with vibrant colour, sharp composition, and attention to every detail. His work has been described as ‘stylish, photo-realism', ‘unique, and very Australian'.

Scott's work is held in private and public collections within Australia and in private collections everywhere from the USA to the UK.

Strong sales Australia wide are confirmation that Scott's images connect with many, a trend that is continuing on the world stage. His work is continuing to mature and develop, assuring investors of its collect-ability.

Scott Christensen paints full-time from his home studio and showroom in Redland Bay, Queensland Australia.

"Christensen's paintings exhibit a rare precision, both in terms of their physical detail and the atmosphere that they invoke. It is obvious that his relationship with his chosen subject is instinctive... His paintings transport the viewer to the seashore by scenes produced with such veracity that they seem to at once crystallise and become expressions of our own memory."
Susan Rothnie - October, 2005
